By JDHill
I received my new JVC receiver today and installed it in my f250 diesel in about 2 hours.
2004 F250 Diesel, crew cab, Jensen 4 ways all around.
Installed JVC unit with Dremel tool, file, Crutchfield mounting kit (instructions are simple & right)
Samsung Galaxy II (sprint) w/icecream sandwich
I drive a lot of miles, little button fiddling, use hands-free a lot
I want to look at the road while everything else does its thing without my help
Wow, what an improvement over my old Dual XHD6430! The old receiver had many nice features: BT handsfree & streaming, HD, lots of presets, separate mic. Sound was OK and Duals tend to get temperature-extreme brain damage after 2 or 3 years here in MI.
The JVC has these features, but does them all way better. The sound is fantastic!
Very good sound - far better than the Dual
Radio reception is very good, HD & analog, can preset scan for digital, analog, or both
Mike (detached) works well and has a three level sensitivity preset
Can set the button and display colors and intensities (including Ford green)
Display intensity seems bright enough in daylight
Can use phone or unit ringtones and have display colors change for notifications
BT works fantastically! I can play music, navigate, and take calls simultaneously
BT connects quickly, doesn't seem quirky at all
Can control all BT functions from phone or unit
Address book import works fast and well
Phone button works correctly
Remote is actually useful, simple with raised buttons that can be used by feel
Buttons on the face are few, simple and have good positive feel
Menu preset options are extensive, easy to navigate
Equilizer is very good, ~9 frequencies, preprogrammed options are very good & useful
Front & back USB. Back is on a cable & has BT dongle. Can charge phone from USB
Comes with 2din mount and face trim piece, didn't use either, but the trim would have worked.
Only the first day, but a great start! Haven't tried Apple products on it yet.

Product came very fast. Very bright and nice. It did not fit very nice with a scoche bracket but its possible to make it work. It just looks sloppy and theres a gap on the bottom (My car is a 2007 Ford Mustang).

By James R. Norton
I purchased this radio primarily for Satellite Radio capability to be used in conjunction with a SirusXM Connect Universal Tuner. The radio and satellite tuner were installed professionally. Sound quality is as good as the previous radio that came with my vehicle. Am considering new replacement speakers. I am disappointed in not being able to view all information at the same time. With most radios, you can see what station you're on, name of the song, name of the artist, and current time. You can only see the artist or song individually and have to manually select the setting. If there is a setting that will allow viewing all information simultaneously, I have not found it in the operators manual. On this review, please keep in mind that I have only had this radio for a little over a month and am still learning.
Pro's: Looks good, sounds good, excellent price
Con's: Large lettering appears to prohibit viewing all information at one time. Also, the operators manual "appears" to leave out a lot of functional settings information.
I would recommend this radio to a friend.
