1Could have been good but falls short
By Adrian
the rating (1/5) is based on the price of the unit and what you get for the money

pros:
- looks nice, dvd works well
- bluetooth reconnects at power-on and saves the paired device even if you completely remove the power
- you can hear the conversation well

cons:
1. Bluetooth / Phone features
- there is no external mic or even a provision for an external mic (no jack/plug or wire connection for it), so it all depends where you install the unit to work well with the builtin mic in the face (their website says it has a mic, i even called their Tech Support and the guy i talked to, his name is Scott, said "I guarantee you there's a place to plug the mic on the back", so i ordered the unit and surprize, no mic or place to connect one)
- you have to sometimes turn your head or speak loud for the other party to hear clearly what you are saying, again related to the above since the unit is installed low in my case, if would be installed high about the center steering wheel level would probably be ok.
- there is no way to search the contacts list other than touching the screen to advance 1 page down (you'd think you can use the rotating knob for that but no, and not one of the buttons on the front can be used to advance thru the address book, there is no fast scrolling or anything like that that can take you 1/2 way or 1/4 way thru your contacts). there is no letter search either
- the screen is quite wide, however 2/3 of it is unused in the address book, it only shows the contacts in the center of the screen and it's about 1/2 the name for an average length
- there is no voice dial button, i have to press the one on my phone, unlike my headset which if i press and hold the dial button it goes into voice dialing mode this unit has no such thing

2. sound
- it has an equilizer feature (sort of) with a few presets, however all it has really are bass/treble - very dissapointing
- sound is no better than my $75 Sony i am replacing, it's probably due to lack of adjustments

3. A/V input
- the only A/V input is on the fron face with a mini-jack, no way to wire a backup camera or input a different source unless you use the stupid adapter dongle, I have no idea why this is, would have been fairly easy to bring out a pair of RCAs out the back for this.

4. Settings / functions / front face
- if you remove the main power (like disconnect the battery or unplug the back connector) will lose all settings; it has a reset button on the front to restore defaults (behind the face) which would make you think this will save your settings, unfortunately that is a useless feature since you can achieve the same by disconnecting the battery
- I tried to preset the tilt on the front face in the settings menu, set it to step 3, exited and pressed tilt, went thru all 5 positions so that feature is probably not working due to a bug in the firmware
- buttons are very heavy to press and sometimes it takes a lot to make them click, the front face looks like it bends while pressing on the buttons located at the bottom of the face
- the touchscreen doesn't respond all that well, sometimes is great and other times it takes 3 or 4 tries to get it to select a button.
- the front face is hard to set in place, you have to press quite hard to make it click in
- removing the face is a whole adventure, you need to really fiddle with it to come off
- only 1/3 of the screen is used for mostly anything, i could not find a way to add custom names to any of the stations you save or for anything
- documentation is fair to poor, but then again there is not much to it (basic car stereo with a DVD player) so that explains why i guess
- there is no DIMMER wire !!! probably the most stupid and dissapointing miss on this design, it's such a simple feature that any basic aftermarket or OEM stereo has, absolutely retarded to not include such a feature (but you can dim from the settings menu, so everytime you are in the daylight you need to increase it, or the other way around when it gets dark you have to go into settings and dim it.
- it is way bigger than the picture would lead you to believe, it's almost a full 2DIN face (not 1.5 as you would think).
- lacks contrast on the image at times, although this is not really an issue for me since i didn't buy it to watch DVDs but to use it for a backup camera (and since i can't use if for that it doesn't matter anyway)

A lot of the screens have unused buttons, i assume this can be better should they get the software right or enhanced, I'm fairly sure it can have more than a 2 band EQ but the feature is not enabled or programmed probably, backup camera or an additional video input for a GPS unit would be nice (no need to have any touchscreen functions or anything but even if you want just audio there is no way to get it thru the speakers unless you plug a cord in the front face).

for $200 total delivered it's a big disappointment, would i buy it again if i knew all this: NO, do i recommend it - absolutely not. I have no idea why the other reviewer gave it 5 stars, probably he has a dog in the fight - reason i wrote this review is so others don't get fooled by the 5/5 rating
